The checkout was simple, and the room was clean, smelled nice, and had a king bed at an affordable price. I appreciated getting detailed directions about parking and finding the room at check-in, though I forgot them and wandered around a bit before locating it. The short pillows didn’t help me sleep very well. I liked having both a microwave and a fridge/freezer, which you don’t always get. The door worried me a little because it shifted outward when I pushed it, as if it might open from outside. I tested it and found it wouldn’t actually open, but it still spooked me. Breakfast was mostly waffles, yogurt, and baked goods; we wanted something hot, so we ate elsewhere. We stayed Friday into Saturday while driving from North Carolina to Orlando, Florida, and chose Santee to break up the trip. It worked fine for an overnight.

The bed was comfortable, though the room itself felt a bit rough. We picked this as what looked like the best of the cheaper places in town, and it wouldn’t take much to make it stand apart from the others. We were traveling with family and checked in late, so everyone was tired and slept in. Housekeeping knocked at 8:30 AM. Luckily we’d just woken up, but they should wait until checkout.

We were driving from Jersey to Florida and pulled into Sentee SC around midnight. The Holiday Inn wanted $200, while Latoya at the Baymont quoted us $80 and was very friendly on the phone, so we went there. The room was contemporary and did what we needed: a pillow-top bed where I could sleep, then a hot shower in the morning. Breakfast was continental, and the service was welcoming.

The hotel was clean and nice, and the evening staff member was especially pleasant. It’s pet and disability friendly, and I’d gladly stay again. There wasn’t much open for food or delivery after 8 PM. I’d avoid Taco Bell, though, it was the worst.

The beds were comfortable and the bedding was clean, and the front desk was cordial from the moment we walked in. The bathroom needs some attention, since the tub caulking was coming off. We also didn’t have enough towels for the three of us. I’d still return, but I’d check for enough towels as soon as I got to the room.
