Radisson Hotel Santa Maria

The atrium is a nice spot for family gatherings, and the place felt clean and safe. But parking is limited, the shower had barely any pressure or hot water, and neither the TV nor the air conditioning worked in my room. I assume the building renovations may be behind some of that. The restaurant serves food until 8 p.m.

We came for a wedding and stayed Friday and Saturday nights. There was no construction while we were there, so it was quiet, and the staff were courteous and quick to respond. Our room was in the updated section, with modern decor and nice furnishings. Ask for a remodeled floor if you can, since those rooms are much nicer than the older ones. The hotel is undergoing a major renovation, and I think I overheard that it may be changing brands. You can already see the work taking shape, and I expect the finished place to look stunning. The Wi-Fi wouldn't work in our room, though we could connect in the hallway and lobby. The hotel is next to the Santa Maria airport, but we heard very little aircraft activity. Restaurants and grocery stores aren't far, and there's a YMCA across the street. I'd stay again.

The renovated room was nice, and the stay was very quiet. The shower took about three minutes to warm up, then it was great. It's right beside the Santa Maria airport, but during construction the direct route from the airport to the hotel is closed. The location is away from the main areas, with no food within walking distance, so keep that in mind.

Breakfast at the restaurant was fantastic, and our server may be the best we've ever had. The rest was a mixed bag. The shower water was lukewarm, and reporting it didn't get the problem fixed. We also had no room service after three days. Most of the front desk staff were friendly, but management processes seemed to leave them unable to help. The parking spaces are tight for a medium-sized truck.
