When searching for motels in San Luis Obispo, another Villa motel comes up in the results, even though that one is in a different city. I ended up booking the wrong location, and they wouldn't refund me. It seems the motels aren't even owned by the same company. How can two motels have exactly the same name without being under the same ownership? The whole thing feels shady, and too many details seem off. Stay away from both.

The beds were clean and good, and the place had what I needed for one night. Wi-Fi was slow, and there was no cable TV.

The room was clean, though the bed was very firm. Water pressure was low on the second floor, and there was some noise from the busy intersection nearby. The HVAC worked fine.

For the price, this was a clean, basic room that worked fine for an overnight sleep. It's not a five-star hotel, but you get what you pay for. I'd give it 5/5 in this price range.

For a total of $72 including tax, this didn't feel like a good deal. The room was about 12 by 12 feet, and we didn't use the heater because it gave off a strong gas smell. When we arrived, the smoke alarm was disabled and sitting on the counter. There was no towel in the shower, just a paper "bath mat," and the doors had no inside lock, which left us uneasy.
