Spark by Hilton Santa Nella on I-5

Rooms have been refreshed, are clean and updated, and the property was quiet and away from the truck stops. The breakfast was pretty lame, just bagels, cereal, and yogurt. The rate was decent, and I’d stay again.

There aren’t many choices around this exit, just truck stops and fast food, though the area felt safe overall. Parking was well lit, and lots of workers stay here during the week. The property seems to have been remodeled well. Check-in staff were very nice and helpful, and it was quieter than I expected. Housekeeping was scheduled during my stay and got it exactly right. The room was clean and modern, with a comfortable bed, though the pillows could be better. There was no coffee maker, and the mini-fridge was tiny with no freezer. The old-style thermostat didn’t keep the room very cool, but its constant fan helped me sleep. Laundry is available on site for $2 in coins for washing and drying, and the facilities were clean. Breakfast was minimal, with bagels and cereal.

A good place to spend the night on a road trip. The Spark in Santa Nella is clean, fairly quiet, and relatively safe. The property was recently redecorated, but the rooms are a bit minimalist, with just one metal chair and a round object that looks child-sized to sit on. All the parking is outside the compound, which is inconvenient. Breakfast is sparse, though that didn’t concern us. It might matter to others.

We had to stop for the night because the roads were so foggy, and even though we arrived close to 11, the staff were really nice. The room was clean and the building looked well cared for. There were more than enough breakfast choices, and the cat wandering around was very cute.
