We've stayed here a number of times without trouble, and the location and service are good. This trip, though, we barely slept. A work truck with Iowa plates parked outside our room at 12:30 a.m., with several people playing bass loudly. I couldn't tell where it was coming from at first. After an hour I got dressed, went out, and found the truck. The front desk had them move, but only about 75 feet, and the noise went on for another two hours. I finally fell asleep at 4 a.m. and woke up at 7 to see the same truck backed in by the building. A very homely-looking woman got out wrapped in a blanket and lit a cigarette, then a man got out of the driver's side. It looked like they'd slept in the truck after their four-hour session of getting high and playing loud bass music. The hotel itself is fine, but they need to stop loud people passing through from disturbing other guests. I paid $116 for four hours of sleep and five hours of bass. I'd avoid a room facing the parking lot.

After a long day driving, I needed a good night's rest, and the clean room and comfortable bed delivered. Angela at the Comfort Suites front desk was warm, efficient, and professional when she checked me in. I was grateful for that welcome, especially after waiting ten minutes at the Wyndham Microtel next door with nobody at the desk, then giving up and leaving.

The trouble continued even after we got home. They kicked us out, though I'm not sure exactly why. First the sink wouldn't drain, then they accused us of putting holes in the walls. They wouldn't let us shut the room door so my 15-year-old daughter could get dressed. Later they sent pictures of a shredded mattress. Take pictures when you leave. The internet was horrible, and on the first day breakfast opened two hours late and was available for only 30 minutes. Beware of this hotel.

The employees I dealt with were VERY friendly and polite, but I walked into a room that smelled like cats had been living there. Nobody mentioned that when I booked or checked in. They also charge for wifi. I'm driving a long way across Southern America, and this is the only hotel so far that's made me pay for it. Their supposedly free wifi doesn't work, so I used my hotspot instead of paying for something other places include. If I'd known ahead of time, I'd have booked somewhere else.

The room was nice, the staff were accommodating, and breakfast tasted good. We chose another Comfort Inn on purpose during our trip to Florida after staying at one in St. Louis the night before. This was our second Comfort Inn stay on that trip.
