Hampton Inn Mobile North Saraland

The room wasn't clean, the tub was old and stained, and the shower knob came off in my hand. The bathroom vanity was scratched and peeling. On the top floor, with a small dog, we also had very thin walls. A couple next door were fighting at 3 a.m., and I could hear every word. At check-in, the desk clerk was rude and condescending, apparently annoyed that we'd booked through a third-party site and unwilling to accommodate anything. We were charged an extra fee for our small dog and a $50 deposit for possible room damage, even though we were using a credit card and I didn't think an incidental deposit was needed. After finally getting a room number and key, we opened the door to find someone already inside. She moved us farther down the hall, with no improvement in her attitude. I would've given zero stars if that had been an option.

We opened the room door and German cockroaches scattered, including under the strip between the room's tile and the hallway carpet. Given what we've experienced with German cockroaches before, we weren't willing to take a chance, so we checked in but left without staying. I hope they sort out the pest problem. The young woman at the desk was understanding and explained how the refund works. The location is decent, which makes it a shame that they seem to have more guests than they want.

The room was disgusting, and the lobby and elevator were filthy too. The price is wild for housekeeping this poor. At least I didn't find bedbugs in my room.

It's a budget-friendly hotel, but bring your own soap and shampoo. They leave just one bar to share between the sink and shower. At 7:30 breakfast had nothing but waffles, no cereal, bagels, muffins, or anything like that. A bit more attention to detail would make this a much nicer place.
