The place was quiet and affordable, and the location was convenient. The front desk staff were friendly and attentive, and the person who checked me out was especially courteous. There was some confusion around the reservation, but I’d still recommend staying here. Just know breakfast wasn’t as advertised, so bring snacks.

My 18 yrs old daughter needed somewhere to stay during an emergency evacuation at JSU. While she was there, she found a used condom under the bed and immediately reported it to the onsite staff. They said my account would be credited for the inconvenience. When I later contacted the hotel to ask about that credit, they said nothing could be done. I’m concerned that rooms aren’t being cleaned to a safe standard, and even more concerned that they wouldn’t take responsibility for a serious issue. Please check your room carefully before settling in.

I ended up paying for two days I never received. My two-night booking became a nightmare after my flight was canceled on Day 1. I called the hotel ahead of time and specifically asked them not to mark the whole reservation as a “No Show.” The front desk confirmed they would honor that. When I arrived on Day 2, they’d canceled the reservation anyway. They then claimed there was a rule that I had to call again by 11:00 AM, something nobody mentioned on my first call. They blamed me for what seemed like an internal communication failure. Even though they admitted the mistake was theirs, they refused a refund. Their “special discount” apology was exactly the regular rate, which felt insulting and deceptive. I strongly recommend recording every conversation with the staff. They don’t honor verbal agreements and will come up with excuses to keep your money. The professionalism was unacceptable.

The deposit still hadn’t come back by late Tuesday, even though the clerk said it would be refunded in 1-2 days after checkout. I arrived Saturday after booking and paying in advance on hotels.com, then learned at check-in about a $50 deposit charged to my card. I couldn’t find that deposit mentioned on either the hotels.com or Days Inns sites. When I asked, the clerk brushed me off and mumbled something about a smoking deposit. I’d booked a NON-SMOKING room because I don’t smoke, and it’s ridiculous to pull out an unannounced $59 for a RESERVED, PREPAID, NON-REFUNDABLE room. A nauseating body odor followed me into the elevator and almost to my room. There was no secondary safety lock on the door, and the nearly empty parking spaces were hard to find. It was one of my worst stays in recent history. They’ve lost my business and that of anyone who listens to me.
