Franklin Manor Bed & Breakfast

Franklin Manor was a beautiful place to stay, and Carly and Rob were warm, welcoming and very accommodating. They even made a special vegetarian breakfast for one of our friends. It was the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. I don’t usually write reviews, but I’d recommend it to anyone passing through.

The St. Gertrude room has an enclosed sun porch that lets in lots of natural light, and it’s quite spacious. The bed was comfortable. Its private bathroom is eight feet down the hall, since the room is at the back of the house. We spent a couple of evenings on the manor’s roomy front porch watching the sunset. It’s also an easy walk to Saranac Lake’s main street and Lake Flower. We stayed three nights at Franklin Manor, where the proprietors were lovely, personable and responsive, and made a great breakfast. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, and their breakfast was delicious. Rob and Carly are terrific hosts who’ve kept the historic mansion in great shape. Their dinner recommendations were terrific too. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Rob went above and beyond when our rental car got a flat tire. He picked us up and took us to collect the repaired car the next day. We really appreciated his time and kindness. The owners have made check-in and finding snacks and drinks easy for guests. We stayed at the Franklin Manor while visiting for the UCI World Cup races in Lake Placid, and wished we could have stayed longer. The manor is beautiful inside and out, with a spacious living room, dining room, library and parlor, all nicely decorated. Its deck wraps around two sides and has plenty of Adirondack rocking chairs for watching the sunrise or enjoying the outdoors. The place is quiet, warm and inviting, and our Saint Joseph room was very comfortable. It’s a convenient distance from Lake Placid, and we walked into Saranac for dinner each night. I’d highly recommend it when visiting Lake Placid or Saranac.
