Sara Placid Inn & Suites

We needed a last-minute overnight and were there from 2 a.m. until 9 a.m. The room was small but very clean, the bed had just the right firmness, and the Keurig worked. We could set the heat ourselves and park right out front. They let us leave our snowmobile and trailer onsite. I called because the online reservation was giving me trouble, and the woman on the phone was a sweetheart. I'd stay again.

The room was older and had stains on the sink, but it was VERY clean. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of linen, and we had what we needed for our two-night stay. Communication was mostly prompt, clear, and definitely good. The winter visit to the Sara-Placid Inn was challenging because the parking lot hadn't been plowed well and access between the rooms and lot was difficult. The location made it easy to get to both Saranac Lake and Lake Placid.

I've stayed again since my first visit, and the room was just as clean and comfortable. There was plenty of hot water again, and Shannon responded very quickly. She even let my granddaughter leave her car parked there for the day while we went to Lake Placid. This is definitely my go-to hotel in Saranac Lake, and I'll be visiting often while my granddaughter attends Paul Smiths College. On my first stay the room was outdated but very clean, with a comfortable bed and plenty of hot water for the shower. The location is great, about a mile from downtown and across the street from Lake Flower. The price was very reasonable, and Shannon communicated well. Check-in and checkout were easy with the door code. I would definitely stay again.

The room was a good size, clean, and had a comfortable bed. The decor felt a little dated, but it was warm inside even though it was freezing outdoors. We were right by downtown and across from the lake, which I assume was there under all that ice. We stayed one night and would happily come back.
