The Point

The Point Resort is my favorite getaway by far, a peaceful, relaxing place that feels like Heaven on Earth. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for that kind of escape.

I love how The Point pairs rustic charm with five star service. The food was amazing, and the beds were super comfortable. During our stay, they hiked a three course meal out to us and set a beautiful table on a rock overlooking the lake, like a five star restaurant. The servers were dressed up, too. Truly amazing hospitality and one of my favorite spots.

What made The Point feel special was the people and the food. The amenities are plentiful, from trails, croquet, tennis, bikes, boats and lake tours to darts, pool, games, puzzles and books, but those two things are what stood out during our four day honeymoon. The meals were the best food I've ever had, without exaggeration. Each course looked as good as it tasted, with clear flavors and just a few ingredients playing off one another. Even little touches like a caper berry or hon shimeji made for a lovely detour in the meal. Ryan, Emily, Jeff, Justin, Jack, and Holly made us feel cared for like old friends. Ryan's first glass of champagne set that tone, and I hope they felt just as comfortable around us. Thanks for making our honeymoon so special. A few moments keep coming back to me. After our lunch boat tour with Jack, Ryan was waiting with mulled wine I'd asked for earlier. He must have spotted us coming back and timed it so we had warm mugs as soon as we got ashore. At dinner, we had either Emily or Ryan serving us. Emily brought us back to earth, and we'd laugh whenever she passed by, asking what all the forks were for or if we could get ketchup with steak. Jeff was our morning guy, always punctual, focused, and eagle-eyed. He called me sir every day, though I never felt I deserved it. He was pleasant at breakfast and morning drop-off, always ready with an 'of course' or 'absolutely,' even thanking me for moving my glass so he wouldn't have to walk around the table. His voice made waking up with a hangover easier, and he made it comfortable to ask for anything without feeling guilty. Justin at the bar was cool and calm, with an infectious smile and martini skills fit for a Bond movie. The tuxes and floor length gowns could feel intimidating, but he kept conversation flowing between all the groups. We hope to see everyone again. Mary and Ben

The boathouse stay was epic in every way, and the food and wine were world class. The service is best in class, with no one coming close. We had the time of our lives and have already booked another stay. I'd recommend the Point to anyone who enjoys the finer things.
