We paid around $150 a night, but to me this place was worth about $20. We had to change rooms twice. The first had vomit on the bed skirt, torn carpet with spikes sticking up, and dirty towels still in the bathroom. The next room smelled of cigarette smoke despite being designated smoke-free, and the shower had no hot water. The woman at the front desk tried to help, but the hotel itself felt more like a homeless shelter. Don't let the photos fool you if you're looking for a decent place to stay.

The staff were nice, and the location was good, but for $170 a night the room and breakfast were not okay. The room had dark marks on the bathroom floor, smelly carpet, and a damp, funky odor that made my allergies act up. I had to spend most of my time out of the room to feel better. The AC was too loud, and the TV seemed to be from last century. Breakfast was poor for the price, and the cranberry juice had started oxidizing and tasted like vinegar.

The location was perfect for the Sarasota Art Museum event we attended, with plenty of places to eat and visit nearby. Check-in had some drama, though the clerk was nice overall. Our room wasn't clean, and the bathroom was infested with roaches. I won't be coming back.

The customer service was incredible. My flight was delayed several times and then pushed to the next day, and the hotel was understanding and easy to work with. The property could use updating, but it's a great value. I'd recommend it if value is what you're after.

The reservation couldn't be refunded, so I was stuck losing the money. After check-in, I opened the room door and was hit by a strong smell of cigarettes and dampness. I asked for another room and went to inspect it, but it smelled just the same, like a damp basement with cigarette smoke. I don't recommend booking here.
