Budget Host Crestview Inn

I ended up having the best sleep of our nine-day vacation here. The bed was really comfortable, even with my back trouble, and the room was immaculately clean with no cigarette smell. The place isn't fancy or new, and everything looks older and worn, which is why I initially refused to stay after asking to see the room. I tried finding somewhere else, booked what I thought was another hotel, and that fell through. The owners had kindly let us get a refund and out of the agreement, which was awfully nice of them, so we came back and were relieved the room was still available. I always check for bed bugs, even in fancy hotels, and this room passed with flying colors. The owners were kind, and I value cleanliness and kindness more than frills. I'd absolutely stay again. Sorry this review is so late, I told the owners in June 2025 I'd write one.

We arrived late and left early, and for a budget overnight stay the room was clean, the bed comfortable, the shower hot, and the A/C worked fine. There was little to no road noise. I usually stay at a Marriott, but the ones nearby were full, so this was a pleasant surprise and better than I expected for a budget hotel. One thing to know, Google says there's a continental breakfast, but there isn't.

The owner, a young man, was friendly, and my husband liked having a free coffee room open 24 hours. It had a microwave, plates, napkins, ice, and a small picnic area in the parking lot. After two nights of primitive camping, the hot shower and clean sheets and towels were welcome, like a clean campground shower. But I slept poorly because of people coming and going nearby, including a neighbor who went out to smoke often. The room smelled of cigarette smoke, mustiness, or both, and it made my throat scratchy. The rate was lower than other hotels around, but next time I'd pay a bit more to sleep better.

We'd stay here again if we travel this way, but we'll bring our own coffee. The instant coffee machine was available, but the coffee wasn't drinkable, which brought down the service for me. Ice, coffee, and a small selection of vending items are in the central courtyard. Our two-double room was very clean, and the owners had left extra pillows and bathroom supplies. There are flowers in window boxes and solar lights outside. It's a motel that does the practical things well, with quick access; the owners and managers were around and quick to ask if we needed anything.
