The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and I slept like a baby. The shower had great pressure and heat. There’s also a 5-ft deep pool and a nice-size hot tub. What really made the stay was how warmly everyone treated us. Lexie checked us in, then the manager, Cal, came by to say hello. We chatted with them about the area for at least five minutes and felt right at home. Cal even fetched the check-in water from the refrigerator while Lexie finished the paperwork. The next morning, Ethan at the counter greeted us like we’d known each other forever, and Brenda came out while we ate to introduce herself. Breakfast had thick toast and bacon, along with lots of other food and drinks. This is a very nice place to stay. Two thumbs up and a high five. We’ll definitely come back when we’re in the area.

The air fresheners were so overpowering I could taste them, and they made me nauseous. The walls and floors are extremely thin, too, so you hear everything. I stayed over the weekend with my son, and had to call the front desk because kids in the next room and above us were yelling, screaming, and running around until 2 am. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you want a good night’s sleep. I’d choose the comfort inn. I also found it disrespectful that they don’t offer veterans discounts.

The room and staff were nice, but I was disappointed they wouldn’t refund us. The bridge had unexpectedly closed because of falling ice, and after a 6 hour drive with my children, we booked a room to rest. The official Mackinac bridge site said there was no expected reopening time. About an hour after checking in, I got word the bridge was open again, so we could head home. The room was almost as we’d found it, except one bed needed to be made. I called corporate about a possible refund, and they said it was up to the local manager, so they transferred me. After I explained, the manager declined. Since the hotel is so close to the bridge, they know about these unexpected winter closures and reopenings. If you’re only looking for a room because the bridge is closed, wait a little if you can.

I couldn’t get a good night’s rest. I felt itchy after going to sleep and was worried about bed bugs, which I reported to the staff. The hotel also lacked cleanliness throughout. I spoke with staff and management, but didn’t get a favorable response.
