I booked two nights through Expedia and found the room infested with roaches when I checked in. I refused to stay and went back to the clerk, who told me to contact Expedia for a refund. The phone number they gave me wasn’t one they actually used, so I had to call Best Western. When Expedia finally reached them, manager Theresa denied the refund and said I was lying. This is a run-down extension of Best Western, and the management was disrespectful and unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Zero stars.

The smell hit us as soon as we opened the door to Room 3104, which we’d booked through Expedia. The smoke alarm was hanging from the ceiling and beeping for a low battery. The beds were nearly on the floor and completely worn out. One mattress had rips along the bottom, and there was visible debris under the bed edge. One bed had a skirt, while the other showed a bare box frame. The sheets were stained, the wallpaper was torn, and a lampshade was broken. That awful smell kept coming up. I called about the alarm, and a guy came to replace the battery. He said the floor was dirty because it was old. The longer we stayed, the more disgusted we felt. Tired and hungry, we contacted Expedia and asked to cancel, but we’d already checked in. Expedia kept trying to arrange a cancellation without a penalty, but no one would answer when they called the hotel. We went to the office with photos of the mattress and asked for a refund. She did refund the two nights we’d booked, and it showed up in the bank the next day. You don’t want to stay here. Yuk.

I booked a ground-floor room a week ahead and told the clerk that two disabled adults would be staying and couldn’t climb stairs. When I arrived, staff were swearing while I checked in. The room they assigned was filthy and already occupied. The manager laughed and offered us a room on the second floor, at the top of the stairs. I demanded a full refund. The manager says they offered the disabled couple another room upstairs, as though we’d want to crawl up the stairs.

The front desk staff were okay, but do not stay here. After a five-hour drive, we arrived at 3 pm and were told our room wouldn’t be ready until 4. We were given another room, but found French fries, pistachio shells, and napkins on the floor, and it smelled like an ashtray. In the next room, I’m pretty sure the maid was smoking while checking it for cleanliness. The TV had sound but no picture, and the sheets were stained. On top of that, I’d paid for the rooms through booking.com, but the hotel charged us for them too. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, made even harder by the fact we were there for a funeral, not a vacation.
