We came to Lucile’s for my husband’s birthday and loved the views and food. Matt welcomed us, showed us around, suggested local activities and places to eat, and even helped us work out where to park our oversized vehicle. The women serving breakfast were attentive, and we really enjoyed both breakfast and the desserts in the evening. It was a wonderful weekend, and we’ll be back.
The people at Lucille’s Mountain Inn & Spa made the stay feel warm and welcoming. The staff and owners clearly care about their guests, and it comes through in every interaction. The rooms are comfortable and charming, the grounds are lovely to walk around, and the atmosphere is quiet and restorative. Spa services added even more relaxation. Set among beautiful scenery in the North Georgia mountains, the peaceful, well-kept property is a lovely place to unplug.
We stayed in the spacious two-bedroom Treetop Suite, with a private balcony over the treetops. The main resort building sits on a hill with a peaceful view of the surrounding forests and mountains. There’s a koi pond, a fountain, and the sound of flowing water in the garden facing the view. There’s no pool or gym, so pack accordingly. The experience felt quite five-star, and the bath linens and comfortable robes were lovely. Breakfast is included, served as two courses between 8:30 - 10:00 in the morning. American-style coffee is available in the room or dining room, but if you like Italian brew, we found a better coffee fix at Sweetwater Cafe after breakfast, where we ran into other guests doing the same. The resort also serves dessert in the evenings, a nice treat after dinner nearby. We wanted to eat at Harvest Habersham Restaurant but couldn’t get a reservation, so book early if you’re planning to go. We mainly came to see the nearby Fox Fire exhibit and museum. I think this is about the best resort around here, and my daughter is already planning a return trip with her husband.
This was my second stay at Lucille’s, and I’m already thinking about coming a third time. The mountain views are relaxing, and the staff are so nice. Lee’s breakfasts are generous, delicious, and gourmet. Carley was very helpful at the front desk, while Nancy and Tonya took good care of us at the spa. There’s plenty to do nearby too, from walking the trail between the Hardman House and Helen, to wine tasting at Creekstone, or having a superb lunch at Hush Cuban Kitchen in Clarkesville. Such a nice little getaway!
We’ve stayed twice, and both visits were calm and peaceful. The wide open mountain view from the drop-off behind the property is the real draw, and the grounds and inn are beautiful and well maintained. Our room had a soaking tub that helped relieve stress, comfortable beds, and a mini fridge, but no microwave. There’s no elevator, so keep that in mind when booking. Breakfast and the nightly dessert are delicious, especially the dark chocolate cookies. Since it’s a 10-15 minute drive into town and the inn serves only breakfast and evening dessert, plan your meals ahead. The on-site spa offers massages if you want to relax more. One of the best spots we’ve found in north Georgia to unwind and recharge.
