Aloft by Marriott Savannah Downtown Historic District

We had time to spare before dinner, so I stopped for a drink at the hotel bar, even though I don't usually do that. The prices were a nice surprise, especially compared with the high drink prices at other hotels, and Aushieya was a phenomenal bartender. She was personable, and we enjoyed chatting with her. I was surprised to learn she can't accept cash tips. I spent years in food service, and good service should be tip-able in cash. I'm sure it's a corporate rule, but I think it should change. The Aloft is in an excellent location, and the staff are always smiling and welcoming. I'll be back. Thanks for the hospitality. Rick

We'd just finished a drive of more than 10 hours to Savannah, so getting checked in early was such a relief. The customer service was amazing, and they were accommodating with our service pup. Wednesday night's bar and lobby atmosphere was really fun. We'd definitely come back and recommend it.

We've stayed here a few times, and it's been great every time. The rooms aren't big, so this may not be your place if you want lots of space, but I'm from NYC and it's larger than my whole apartment. The place was clean, the location was great, and everyone was nice. Desha is the bomb, and Cassidy is amazing too. The women working the front desk today, 3/7, were fantastic. Management made some great hires.

Once inside, we had a nice stay. The room was clean, the staff were kind, and they fixed an error I'd made in my reservation dates. The location works well for walking around downtown. Valet is the only parking option at $48 a night. I knew that from the website, and the drivers were courteous and quick with our car. Getting there by car was confusing. There's nowhere to pull up to check in or ask about parking, and the garage is signed for the Fairfield by Marriott, not Aloft. After finding the doorbell, you have to be buzzed into the lobby. It's not clearly marked, and all three sets of front doors stay locked. The far left doors by the corner are the ones to use. A nearby urban outdoorsman kindly pointed me and another lost guest in the right direction. It was a pleasant experience once we found the entrance.
