Baymont Inn and Suites Savannah Midtown

The front desk was helpful and let us check out with a refund when we decided to cut our stay short and move to an Airbnb. We left because the first room smelled of cigarette smoke, and the replacement still smelled and was noticeably dirty. The carpet felt like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a while.

The hotel’s appearance left a lot to be desired. Some locks were broken, the pool had been filled in with concrete, and I saw a homeless person in the stairwell and another stumbling along the sidewalk. The room HVAC was stuck on LC, Low Cool, despite the cold weather, and wouldn’t respond to the wall controls. Maintenance had to disable those controls before I could use the unit itself. I wouldn’t go back.

The elevator stopped working, which was awful since we were on the third floor with lots of heavy things to carry to the car: two large suitcases, a cooler, garment bags, and more. We got no help, and now I’m having back problems. We were disappointed with everything during our stay two weeks ago, and the room keys gave us trouble every day too. I’ll never stay there again.

The beds were the best part, and I finally got some much-needed rest. The hotel could use an update, though. The shower head was nasty; maintenance replaced it after I called the front desk, but the replacement wasn’t new, just usable. The bathroom sink didn’t drain properly, and the mini fridge smelled awful.
