Candlewood Suites Savannah Airport by IHG

Amanda was working the desk when we needed a room at the last minute after a problem at another hotel. They had limited availability, but she was incredibly helpful and found a room that fit my family for the night. The place was quiet and clean, and the service made us very happy. I was surprised there wasn’t breakfast beyond items for purchase, like Pop-Tarts or mini-donut packs. That’s a small drawback, though. Free coffee day and night was nice, and I’d stay again.

I’ve stayed at Candlewood Suites in several cities as a travel nurse from Florida, and I regret choosing the one in Savanna. For the price, this was a waste of money. The room was dark, dated, dingy, and needed repairs. The drains were all slow, the toilet ran all night, the sheer curtains looked nicotine stained, and the couch was stained. Everything had a yellow-brown cast. There are many other hotels nearby, and this one isn’t cheaper, so choose elsewhere. The night clerk made us feel like an inconvenience. When we asked for a late checkout, the day clerk gave us only 30 minutes. At 10:30 a.m., housekeeping knocked and asked whether we were checking out or staying over, without a greeting or asking if we needed anything. The hospitality just wasn’t there. I’m an IHG Member, but I’m staying at the Marriott tonight.

My grandparents are in their 80s and were nervous about leaving their flooded home in disarray. Manager ayesha and Porsha took such good care of them, helping with the insurance company and getting them settled. They were kind and helpful, and made my grandparents feel at home and comfortable. Thank you both, you’re much appreciated!

The first room smelled awful, like something had died there recently. They moved us to another room without any trouble. The table in that room was still dirty, and the toilet kept running. Apart from those things, it was fine.
