The cold showers every day were the main service problem. We told the desk each day, and they acted surprised until checkout, when they admitted they’d had an issue all weekend. If they’d been honest from the start, we would’ve understood. That lack of openness lowered my rating. The rooms were clean, the bedding was comfortable, and they provided a noise machine. Housekeeping also came every day for towels, trash, and bedding, which you don’t see as often now. Valet is a separate service, and the attendants were friendly and quick. The app made it easy to have the car ready.

The corner king we were upgraded to had a great view of the area. The room was smaller than any other Doubletree we’ve stayed in, and mostly clean, though there was a layer of dust on the desk and TV stand. Check-in was quick and the clerk was cordial. The hotel is near the Riverwalk and other attractions and restaurants. We knew parking was expensive and booked a park-and-stay package through the hotel to cut the cost. At checkout, I noticed they’d charged us for two nights of parking. They removed the charges, though it took a while. Breakfast was okay, and the hostess was very friendly.

There’s only valet parking, at $45 per night, and you’ll hear traffic at all hours since the hotel is on a busy city street. There’s no pantry or snack vending. The bar and bistro serve breakfast for an extra fee, but aren’t open every day. The stay itself was comfortable and clean, with good security. The Riverwalk is close, and plenty of restaurants and shops are an easy walk away.

We loved the location for exploring the Historic District, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We had a great stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Savannah Historic District and would recommend it. Destiny served us at the bar one evening and again at breakfast the next morning. She was pleasant and professional, with great service and attitude. Jamie (Valet) was also outstanding, helpful and responsible, and made arriving and leaving easy. We’d be glad to stay here again.

I was in the area for a work appointment, and there was plenty going on around the hotel. Everyone there was kind and helpful, and the other guests seemed upbeat and said they were enjoying their stay. The hotel is top notch. I’d absolutely come back for a vacation.
