Econo Lodge Savannah Midtown

The furniture looked like it had been pulled from a dumpster, and the room smelled strongly of old smoke. Despite the listing promising a nonsmoking room and free breakfast, there was no breakfast at all. Very disappointing.

Savannah was fully booked that weekend, and the photos made this place look decent, so we gave it a try. Once there, we didn’t feel it was safe for us, especially the kids. It seemed more like a place rented by the hour. The room was filthy, the drawers were disgusting, and the bathtub looked nothing like the pictures online.

The front desk staff were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. They were understanding when there was a problem with my booking, and I’m grateful I could get a room at all under the circumstances. The location was handy too, with pretty much any store you might need nearby. I’d seen comments about noise late at night, but didn’t experience that myself. I was there during Hurricane Milton. The room looked clean at first, though a closer look showed it could’ve been cleaner. I’d asked for a smoke-free room, but it smelled of cigarettes. That was really my only complaint.

Please don’t stay here. The room had cigarette burns in the bed, weed crumbs in a drawer, and pee in the toilet when we walked in. Someone had written “I came on the bed” on the bedside table in room 121. There was also a strong weed smell, and homeless people were sleeping right out front. I found what might have been a bullet hole in the car parked next to mine, though that wasn’t the hotel’s fault.
