The staff are genuinely friendly and love sharing their city. When we mentioned we’d be leaving early, they offered to pack us a breakfast to go, which says a lot about the care they put into things. The daily breakfast also includes a sweet treat, like cherry cobbler or peach crisp, and those were some of the best sweets we had in Savannah. At the McMillan, the gorgeous house still feels comfortable and welcoming. You can eat, sleep, and lounge on the beautiful antique furniture, unlike much of historic Savannah, where preservation makes things feel very “look but don’t touch.” One owner told another guest, while they were talking about travels and places that felt like home, “well, you can consider this your home in Savannah,” and that really captures how they make you feel. We’d happily stay here again when we return to Savannah.

Breakfast here is something else, and the Inn has beautiful old details throughout, from the trim and ceilings to the staircases and distinctive rooms. There are fireplaces everywhere, along with old wood floors, art, and lovely furniture. I can picture people dining in the great dining room a hundred years ago. This was my first bed and breakfast, but it won’t be my last. It’s nothing like my usual Hampton stay, and I can’t imagine finding a better one. I could walk easily to almost anywhere I wanted to go in the city, and there’s a Kroger within walking distance that stays open until 11 p.m. Some rooms mean dealing with stairs, so choose the first floor if that’s a problem. Wait until after check-in to unload your bags. I’m still here and already checking dates to book again.

We loved our stay so much that we booked a second night and got to try two different rooms. Both were comfortable, beautifully decorated, and had gas fireplaces we enjoyed. The inn itself is beautiful, clean, and well maintained, and the staff are friendly and full of helpful recommendations. On the second night, my wife and I got food poisoning and were dehydrated the next morning. When I asked about sports drinks or anything with electrolytes, one of the owners, Eric, offered to go to the store for us. He brought something to our room about ten minutes later and wouldn’t accept my money when I tried to pay. Such kind people!

Our room was spacious and clean, and we loved having peach tea and strawberry cookies each night in the parlors. Breakfast was a treat, with different dining areas to enjoy, and our room by the pool felt private. This was our first visit, and my husband’s first bed and breakfast stay. The location worked perfectly whether we wanted to walk around the city or catch a shuttle. The place feels like stepping back in time, and we really didn’t want to leave. Can’t wait to return! Don’t hesitate to book, and pay attention to the floor levels, there are lots of stairs.

We stayed in the Montgomery Room February 14th-16th 2026, and Melissa and her team made us feel like family. She even came out to hear what we thought, and we had nothing but praise for her and the staff. They did their best to take care of every need that came up. We travel several times a year, though we’re not wealthy, and found the stay very affordable for the level of service. The period decor was exactly right and gorgeous. We can’t understand the negative reviews, since this was far beyond what we’d hoped for. We’ve found a place we’ll return to, and we’re grateful. Thank you, Melissa, and everyone there. We’ll be back.
