The beds were as comfortable as a Marriott’s, and both rooms were clean. The kitchen had what we needed for cooking and cleaning, but the living room carpet was stained and the couch had holes. One bedroom had no TV, and shower tiles were coming loose. The elevators smelled awful, too. We didn’t call the local contact because dealing with it sounded like a hassle. I’d really wanted to like Stay Alfred. The phone staff who helped us book were great, and it seemed like plenty of people in the building had booked through them too. But the living space felt more like a Best Western than the A Loft I’d hoped for. I hope the investors walk through and bring the property up to standard.

They even provided eye masks and earplugs, which came in handy since downtown gets noisy at night. The room itself was clean and cute for a weekend, and access felt secure with a code or key card at the entrance plus an overnight security guard. I’m looking forward to visiting again.

The noise made it nearly impossible to sleep, so we left a day early and booked a hotel room. The room here was clean, nicely decorated, and well stocked. The Stay Alfred staff we spoke with before check-in were amazing, which had made us hopeful for a better stay.

We left after just one night. The apartment was spacious, but it didn’t feel clean: there were dusty window sills, dirty windows with great views, scruff marks, dust in the vents, a stained rug, chipped dishes, and missing shower tile. The hall carpet had pet stains and smelled, and the elevator had marks and dirty carpet. Savannah’s Stay Alfred manager came by, but didn’t seem interested in hearing what we thought was wrong. She offered to move us without charge for the next two nights, then said Stay Alfred had no other properties that would make us happy. The reservation office was great, but the properties vary, and that indifference nearly ruined our holiday. I’d stayed with Stay Alfred in Phoenix and had a great experience, but I won’t stay with them again.

The apartment was clean, and the location was perfect. The floor tiles in the shower were loose and popping out, and the bedroom shades let in the morning sun. Even with those problems, we loved the place and would stay again.
