The owners are what have made my stay stand out. They’re warm, helpful, and make you feel looked after in a way that really feels like home. I checked into the Admiral motel in May and will be here through the end of October. The room has been spacious, comfortable, spotless, and everything works as it should. The place is a little tucked away, but it’s been a real retreat, with care put into guest comfort. So far this has been one of my best stays and rooms, and I expect to remember it after I leave. The room, the welcome, and the owners’ kindness have all been great.

It was so clean, and the owner was friendly and quick to help whenever we needed something. This older motel has been redone nicely, inside and out, and the small room felt bright and cheerful. Flowers and benches outside made it nice to sit outdoors, and the hill gives you a lovely marsh view. We felt at home here, a welcome change from chain hotels.

For a longer visit, they have weekly rates, and the owners are considerate about giving you space. When something goes wrong, they’re available and take care of it right away. They’re understanding and treat you like the place is your home too. I’d pick staying here over a super fancy hotel any day, because they don’t make you feel like garbage.

I wouldn’t stay here, even for one night, if you’re concerned about your well being. The room keys all work the same, according to my experience, so anyone could get into any room. There was no peace or quiet at any time, and complaints were brushed off with “it’s a motel.” I was told the rate was $440 a week, then it became $425 the next week and later $450, while someone a couple of rooms away paid $350. The owner wouldn’t address the mold or other problems. Worst experience ever. Please think about your safety.

I first pulled in at 2 AM during a last-minute road trip because it was on my route, and it turned out to be a great find. I’ve been coming back every year since, now with a plan, and expect to keep doing that. It’s a small place, but clean and a good value, with fair prices. It works well as a stop on a trip or for a vacation if you’re willing to drive 15mins to the beach.
