Hampton Inn Schenectady Downtown

The pool was spotless and just the right temperature, one of the better hotel pools I've used. Nicole at check-in and the woman with glasses serving breakfast made the place feel like a home, and breakfast tasted homemade. Management clearly cares about the guest experience, and that shows. I've stayed at some lovely Hamptons, and this is among the nicest. My only suggestion is to replace the dated beige and cream with brighter paint so the rooms stand out more.

I've been staying here for years, and the woman who greets me at breakfast is always great. The gym is the best I've seen in a hotel, clean and usually empty, with the Precor equipment I need for a quick, solid workout. Parking remains a headache, though. Local bar and restaurant customers fill the spaces at night, and the hotel doesn't address it when I report the problem.

Nicole at the desk was both professional and friendly, and the hotel is clean and well cared for. We did find that someone had smoked in our non-smoking room. Nicole got us moved, but we shouldn't have had to deal with that. I hope the previous guests were charged for the cleaning.

We were driving to New Hampshire for Christmas with our dog when a terrible blizzard forced us to find somewhere for the night. We called Hampton Inn from the road and got a room quickly. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean, and every staff member was kind and accommodating, especially with our dog. We keep thinking about how nice the stay was and hope to come back when conditions are better.
