Homewood Suites By Hilton Schenectady

The rooms are clean, and the building looks attractive inside and out. My concern is the service, which seems to be slipping. I've stayed here twice, and things were noticeably better on my July visit. I sent the hotel feedback but never heard back, though I expected a response. To me, that adds to the impression that service is declining and guest comments aren't valued. A committed general manager would have followed up.

The rooms were clean, breakfast was great, and the staff were helpful. It's a welcoming place, and I'd definitely stay here again.

They even gave us a river-view upgrade, maybe because we were staying after our wedding. The room was cozy and so clean, and the staff were attentive and nice. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of places to sit. We had a perfect one-night stay, and I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

The rooms were filthy, there were bugs crawling around, and the pool had black-looking corners and a dark floor. When I opened the couch, the mattress was covered in pee stains. I asked for another one and got one that was even worse. The breakfast room was awful too. Ms.Gloria singled out my 10-year-old and told him to learn to read the wall signs because he put chocolate chips in his waffle mix. Every white kid before him had done the same, and she hadn't complained to them. I told her she should speak to the parents instead of approaching a child. She didn't apologize, just stood there watching us eat. This was the worst experience ever. If I could give the hotel zero stars, I would.
