Sleep Inn Lafayette West

The person at the desk was very nice and refunded us without any trouble. That was the only good part of the stay. We stopped in at 2 a.m. and booked, but only afterward were we told the elevator was broken. We were on the second floor, so thought the stairs would be no big deal. They had stains on the walls and visible marks from water leaks, and the hallway upstairs smelled strongly musty. The room was worse, with visible stains on the carpet and walls. The bathroom light switch shocked me when I tried to turn it on. The bathroom door was broken, and had gross splatters on both sides when we pulled it shut. The wardrobe cabinet was propped up with a brick. My husband will usually stay in any hotel, but even he wouldn’t stay here. Don’t book if you want a clean room.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I paid a cash deposit and asked for a receipt. He replied, “This is our lively hood, do you think I would scam you for $50.” When I checked out the next morning, he inspected the room and said he wouldn’t return my deposit because there was a stain on the sheets. My two-year-old had spilled orange juice.

I often stay at Sleep In when work runs late, since it’s down the street from my job and saves me an hour’s drive home. I’ve had issues before, like furniture that needs wiping, dirty carpet, and rooms that really need updating. There are little roaches too, so I always bring bug spray and disinfectant spray or wipes. But my stay from 12/20/25 to 12/21/25 was awful. I couldn’t sleep at all. There were blood stains on the wall by the sink and by the toilet, and on the sheets. The shower was dirty, and the top and walls were totally disgusting. After we left and were driving home, my husband felt a huge knot on his stomach. He hadn’t had that before we stayed overnight. These rooms need a deep clean and disinfection. I won’t stay here again. I should’ve asked for a refund!

This Scott, La location doesn’t meet Sleep Inn standards. There was mold around the shower caulking, and the shower dial was missing, so you couldn’t tell if it was set to hot or cold. The in-room coffee maker was broken. I left to let the front desk know, but my husband said the front desk lady had just left to take her child to work, so no one was there. At 7:30 a.m., there was no coffee at breakfast, just muffins and waffles. I won’t stay here again.
