The staff were courteous and accommodating, and the sheets were clean and warm. The room temperature was comfortable. But it was only cleanish, and badly maintained. I’ve seen mention of a remodel in other reviews, and I hope they’re actively working on it. That gel air freshener was awful. The smell gave me a migraine, and chemical residue had gotten onto the coffee pot and cups. The door stuck so badly we nearly couldn’t get in or out. There was no bathroom fan, and the rickety window could be opened but not locked shut. While we were in the room, some artwork partly fell off the wall. It had been hung with plastic hang tags. The flooring was uneven, with countless gaps and an obvious dip where it had been laid over what looked like a drain. That could be a tripping hazard. My husband and I usually like mom-and-pop hotels, but I hope we don’t stay at this one again.

I’ve stayed here plenty of times over the years, and it’s always been a pleasure. The staff are great people. Don’t believe the bad reviews.

I stopped to ask about staying for a week. My house caught fire last week, and my momma dog and her 9 babies were released from the animal hospital today, so I was looking into a room.

The staff were polite and courteous, and the lady who checked us in was very sweet. It was a quiet night, with no loud noise or traffic coming in and out. The location is great, but getting to the room was difficult: the parking lot was icy, and we had to cross a small snow drift. It would be hard for someone using a wheelchair or walker. We were in room 14 in January 2024. The bedspreads had burns and felt very itchy. They may have been clean, but looked dingy, and the pillows were uncomfortable. The bathroom wall was busted up and unfinished, and the paint was bad enough that they may want a different painter. I understand they’re still updating and upgrading, but looks matter when you’re staying in a motel. The toilet wouldn’t flush because the float wouldn’t close, so we had to remove the tank lid and fix it ourselves. The new floor was coming up and didn’t seem to have been installed right. It wasn’t worth the $68 or $70, though thankfully we only stayed a few hours overnight. We travel a lot. This wasn’t one of the best places, but it wasn’t the worst either.
