Best Western Plus Sundial

The friendly staff and surprisingly good breakfast for a small hotel were highlights of my recent business stay. The hotel is in a great spot near the Fashion Square area, but the room had some frustrating issues. There was no working outlet near the bath or vanity, just a plate over it, so I had to dry my hair by the bed without a mirror. The coffee maker outlet didn’t work either. The shower had no door, and water ran onto the floor, which I had to mop up with all the towels. The staff said that was the design, not a missing door. I hope they fix these things. The inconveniences were a problem.

The room was spacious and the balcony was super nice, almost like a patio. The swimming pool was incredible, clean, and stylish, and breakfast was great. We stayed four nights in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, and had a very nice stay overall. The front desk managers and the whole team were highly professional, friendly, and accommodating. There were drawbacks in the room: multiple gaps in the bathroom door meant zero privacy, and the mattresses left a lot to be desired. We’ll be back for sure.

Honestly, this hotel was an awful experience. I was greeted warmly when I walked in, but the man’s whole demeanor changed as soon as he saw that my friends who’d joined me were Jewish. When I confronted him because he was yelling at them, he said he’d be happy to call the cops. I’ve lived in Arizona all my life and never experienced anything like this. Disgusting behavior. 10/10 would not recommend.

Breakfast was a highlight, with three hot mains and plenty of sides to pick from. I especially liked the French toast, and a drink was included. The property was clean and there was lots of parking. Sergio and the rest of the staff were so welcoming, and extending our stay was extremely seamless. We were in room 306, and the noise didn't disturb our sleep. There are lots of clubs nearby, though I can imagine a room that isn't tucked toward the back behind the corner post might be noisier.
