Hyatt Place Scottsdale North

We loved the location, especially having Starbucks, a sports pub, and an ice cream shop right there. The pool was the perfect temperature, and our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating. One of our best hotel stays, and we'd definitely return.

The studio apartment was laid out well, and the rooms were quiet. We appreciated being able to check in early, and the property was exceptionally clean and well maintained. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance and a Whole Foods less than half a mile away. The central location was great, and the welcoming front desk staff seemed genuinely interested in making our stay a positive one.

The breakfast was worth the extra cost, and there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. The freeway is also very close for easy access. But we expected more for the price. Our room wasn't as nice as we'd hoped, and the air conditioner was incredibly loud when it kicked on, like a jet taking off. The fridge was too small for all our food, mostly vegetables. We were above the pool, where a noisy group stayed up all night, and staff didn't quiet them down. The same group was loud at breakfast. There's no hot tub, and although the pool was heated, it still felt cold.

The convenient location and comfortable bed were the good parts. Otherwise, the experience was disappointing and not what I expect from a Hyatt. The hotel is older and dated, and the room needed a proper cleaning and restocking. Staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, and I had to ask several times to get things done. Even as a World of Hyatt member, this stay has made me think twice about choosing a Hyatt again.
