The Scottsdale Resort and Spa, Curio Collection by Hilton

We had a lovely place to celebrate after our wedding. The property is beautiful, our room was spotless and well cared for, and both the food and drinks were excellent. The patio was also a pretty setting while we waited, though we often had to wait a long time at the brunch restaurant and main lobby bar on both our breakfast and lunch visits. It was hard to find our waitress, and we had to ask another server to track her down a couple of times. Sunday by the pool was crowded, and there weren’t any lounge chairs left for us. We found a shaded table instead and could still enjoy the atmosphere. Service was uneven elsewhere too: one bartender was rude to us and to family who came by to celebrate. We told the front desk, and they gave us a $50 credit, which we appreciated. He apologized to my husband, but not to me or my stepdad. Another bartender was wonderful later that evening and helped turn the celebration around. The clean room, lovely grounds, and good food and drinks made this a relaxing mini moon, though the slow service kept it from being as good as it could’ve been.

The spa was a lovely way to wrap up our girls weekend. I had a fantastic massage from Julie, and the plunge pool was super cold while the hot tub was super hot. The steam room smelled beautiful too. We spent a long morning there. Earlier, we took a yoga class with a really good instructor, and my friend was excited to find a Peloton in the gym. The room was big, the amenities were great, and the pool was nice. The location worked well, and the eggs Benedict were fabulous. We had one small hiccup, but management sorted it out right away. I’d definitely recommend it :)

The pool is a real highlight, with waterfalls and warm water in winter, and the rooms are lovely, quiet, and have great dimmable lighting. The walls are solid, so even on the ground floor we didn’t hear anything. The beds were comfortable and came with lots of pillows. This is a classic Southwest mission style Hotel by Hilton, and the staff were professional. I was surprised the price was split up, since other resorts often include everything. Here the room and spa are charged separately. My only real disappointment was that there’s no hot tub by the swimming pool. Parking was confusing at first, but the valet has overnight self-parking passes for $25 per 24 hours. The entrance is upstairs at the far end from the main drop-off and pickup, though the walk to the rooms isn’t too bad. I’d recommend it for a nice staycation.

This was my third visit to the Scottsdale resort & spa, and we’ve enjoyed it every time. The rooms have lots of space, the resort is beautiful, and the beds are extremely comfortable. We came for the stay well weekend and really liked the different wellness events they hosted. Can’t wait to come back.
