Beachwalk At Sea Beach

The best part was the location, right along the beachwalk, with a park and a Wawa nearby. You can drive to other places in about 10-15 minutes, and there was plenty of parking. The pool was nice and close to the rooms, and the little restaurant and bar out back were a plus. The cheaper rooms, though, were small and kind of dumpy, with peeling wallpaper, beds that felt like cardboard, and a bit of a cigarette smell. The Wi-Fi was weak and unreliable. Unless you're getting one of the nicer, more expensive rooms, I might stay somewhere else, unless you're only planning to sleep in the room.

The view was amazing, and the room was comfortable enough, but a bunch of little things and a few bigger ones soured the stay. I had no heat in the hallways, and it was freezing. I had to put on my coat just to wait in the lobby for Uber Eats. The front desk shut at 6pm, so if I arrived later they'd leave my key in an envelope with my name and room number. That didn't seem secure. With nobody there, I also couldn't buy the lobby snacks. Maybe the off-season played a part, but I wouldn't want to pay summer premium prices for this. The sleep disruptions were my main problem. At 4am on the first night, the neighbors got into a very loud argument. The man was yelling profanities so loudly it sounded like he was in my room. I didn't hear him hurting her, or I would have called the police, but I didn't want to risk police showing up and escalating things. I just wanted to sleep. If the front desk had been staffed, I would have told them. I was sure that using the text emergency number would just mean they'd call the police, and I'd be awake listening to the argument. The next morning, the day I was leaving, maintenance knocked loudly on my neighbor's door at 9am, then started hammering in the neighboring unit around 9:30. I'd been up late the night before, and the noise made it impossible to sleep. He also knocked on my door even though my "do not disturb" sign was hanging there. He said he didn't know anyone was inside. I couldn't get back to sleep after that. Checkout was 11am, so maintenance shouldn't have been making that much noise before then. I had to travel all day and shouldn't have had to get up so damn early. A few other annoyances: one nightstand light didn't work and was replaced with a cheap floor lamp. The ironing board was cheap, bent, and wobbly. There was no full-length mirror for checking an outfit before going out. The TV had Roku, but signing in with my own account didn't seem secure. All that, along with the lack of front desk staff, means I can't recommend the hotel despite the view.

We keep coming back here for a quick getaway, whether it's one night or two. It's right across from the beach, and they have beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels. The pool is nice with plenty of seating, and the restaurant serves good food and drinks. Service can get backed up when it's busy, though, and I wish they had a better system.

Our room faced the ocean, so the view was great. It was very clean and reasonably priced. The only problem was the Wi-Fi, which barely worked, just for a few minutes here and there.
