The staff were so friendly and did everything they could to make us comfortable. The motel has been renovated, and our room was very clean with a great bed and air conditioning. I’ve stayed in motels all over the country, and I don’t think you’ll find better value. Anglers Resturant is just a few feet away for lunch or dinner, and there isn’t a better Resturant for miles. We’ll be back.

A friend suggested Baits when my 18-year-old pregnant autistic daughter suddenly lost her place to stay over Labor Day weekend. She was living in VT, and after calling every hotel we could find on Google in ME, NH, and VT, we couldn’t locate an open room. We explained what had happened, and the people at Baits were willing to help. She’s now been living there for over a month and loves it. She’s also a waitress at Angler’s next door, and hasn’t even considered looking for somewhere more permanent. They helped my “baby” when she was in an emergency, and I owe them so much for that. Great place all around.

The young woman who checked us in was nice, and we got an AAA discount. The inside looks recently renovated, and there are coffee and tea supplies, a microwave, small fridge, shampoo, soap, and cups. The towels were large, soft, and clean, but we only had one set for the whole weekend. There’s a large closet, though you’ll need to bring your own hangers. The doors stick, and I had to force the front one open. Others had the same trouble. There was an overflowing cigarette bucket by the door, black mold on the shower liner, dirty floors, and I couldn’t get the WiFi to work, so I used my hotspot. No room service, and no one was around until the restaurant opened at 11 a.m. Don’t arrive after 8 p.m., when it closes. Check-in meant waiting in line with people who were there to be seated at the restaurant. It’s a short drive from Penobscot Bridge, but I won’t be coming back.

The staff were nice, but the rooms felt pretty strange. There was no toilet paper, the towel holder was missing, and the soap had been left in the shower. Power cords were scattered around, and the AC buttons didn’t work. The floors were dirty, it smelled closed up, and the whole place just felt odd.

We go to The Anglers Restaurant at The Baits Motel whenever we get the chance. The seafood is some of the best on the coast, and everything we’ve tried has been yummy.
