We woke up with terrible coughs the next morning and couldn’t breathe because the air in the room was so bad. The cigarette smell had only gotten stronger, and we couldn’t leave fast enough. The pool was filthy too, with random rubbish and red Solo cups floating around and more cups scattered inside it. It was turning green, and I’d never swim in it. The place reeked of cigarettes as soon as we arrived, indoors and outside, and felt really sketchy. Our dim room looked run-down and outdated, with a door that had a gap between it and the wall. There was a huge hole in the wall, like someone had punched it, and the bathrooms looked like they were falling apart. The man who checked us in assured us the door had just been cleaned and was fine; we tested it and it did lock. When we were unlocking the door, a young boy ran over and said his family had just been in that room and his parents were arguing. I’m not sure what he meant. We checked for bugs and didn’t find any, but saw a few ants later that night. The beds were surprisingly not awful. People there seemed strange and sketchy. A middle-aged man knocked and banged on our door several times in the middle of the night. It was creepy and a huge red flag.

The pool was nice and kept clean, but the rooms weren’t good. This business is operating without a license. Our room wasn’t cleaned properly: there was hair and a beach wristband in the shower, mold on the shower nozzle and curtain, and dirt and dead bugs on the floor. The garbage wasn’t emptied all week, so we had to buy our own bags. We also had to ask for toilet paper when we ran out. While we were at the pool, the cleaning staff stared at us repeatedly instead of cleaning and drank beer on the job. The staring made us uncomfortable.

We rent here by the week and love the place so much. It’s pet friendly and amazing for the price.

The location seemed ideal for a Jersey Shore getaway, within walking distance of the beach and boardwalk, but after five minutes in the room we found baby roaches crawling from the ceiling. There were holes in the walls stuffed with takeout bags, and ceiling tiles were out of place, leaving space for bugs or rodents to get into the room. I wasn’t staying somewhere I might bring roaches home from. My boyfriend went to the office right away to ask for a refund, but they refused because he’d signed papers five minutes earlier. The older lady and gentleman seemed nice and understanding at first, but came off as con artists. It was disgusting and unacceptable. Maybe the owners are willing to live in filth, but I’m not, and neither is anyone who works hard for their money and wants a quiet, relaxing weekend without bugs and grime. Please save your time and money and take your business elsewhere.
