Ashore Hotel

The staff were pleasant every time we called, and check-in on my phone was unbelievably simple: about four minutes to get in and maybe two to check out. We arrived close to 11 p.m., so the self check-in was a big help since the office closed at 10. The beach is barely a minute away on foot, and the price seemed competitive with nearby places. The room was spotless, the shower pressure was great, and the staff were excellent. I took off a point for the missing fire alarm: where it should have been, there were just wires hanging from the ceiling. We forgot to ask why. I'd return without hesitation, and this would be my top hotel in Seaside.

Breakfast arriving at the door was the best finishing touch. It had Greek yogurt, fresh fruit with granola, and a hot croissant; we also paid extra for a Bloody Mary and mimosas. We were able to complete registration online before arriving, so getting into the room was immediate. The location's handy for the beach and aquarium, and we could walk to the main street for dinner or drinks. We had room 22, a king on the far end of the second floor. It was clean and roomy, with a clean bathroom and an overhead shower I really liked. The bed was super comfortable, and the pillows were so fluffy. The AC also had heat, which we appreciated since the beach was cold, and the mini fridge kept our drinks cold. A microwave would've been useful for leftovers, but it wasn't a big deal. There's an indoor heated pool, sauna and alcoholic drinks downstairs; next time we come without the toddler, we'll try those too. We loved our stay and can't wait to come back. 10/10 recommended.

Breakfast brought right to our room was a really nice touch. We had a quiet coastal weekend in this charming, updated old motel, with its own cute personality. The setting made it easy to walk to the beach, the beautiful scenery and plenty of things around town.

I'd give this place minus 10 if I could. We were just out of luck, even though I'd already paid for the room. I asked about checking in early, but the woman couldn't find my reservation. I gave her the confirmation number and she said she couldn't do anything, so I contacted Expedia. They said it was an issue with the hotel. The hotel said it was sold out, and when I asked if they could find another option, they wouldn't even call anyone to check. Thanks for nothing. The pool looked pretty gross from what I could see. I can't reply directly to the owner's response, so I'll answer here. Expedia told me the problem was on the hotel's end, which seems likely since I'd already been messaging the hotel about cribs. The woman I spoke with also assured me this had never happened before, so which is it? I get that mistakes happen, but the way they handled it was absolutely awful.
