The kids were so disappointed and upset. We chose this place for a little night away with them before the baby comes, hoping they could swim. I'm pregnant and high risk, so we were looking forward to the outing. The pool was so cold that we lasted five minutes at most. The hot tub was cold too, colder than a toddler's bath.

We came here in winter so the kids could swim and enjoy the ocean, and the heated indoor pool and hot tub were the main reason we chose this hotel. Neither was warm enough to use. On our first night, the pool felt like an ice bath; my five-year-old was shivering after five minutes, and my three-year-old wouldn’t get in at all. The man at the desk said they’d just fixed it and it would heat up soon, but the next night and the following day the pool and hot tub were still freezing. My son managed about ten minutes in the pool. Staff hadn’t mentioned the problem at check-in and didn’t seem concerned when we raised it. It really spoiled the trip we’d planned around swimming with our kids. Breakfast was enjoyable, and the location was beautiful, so I can’t give it one star.

The front desk staff were friendly and great to deal with. Our room was spacious and super clean, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was standard hotel food, but there was plenty for everyone and it tasted good. We also really enjoyed the pool and hot tub.

The river out back is a cute touch, and we liked that the hotel accepts pets. The fee was $25 per night, which didn’t seem too bad. We booked through airbnb, and the location worked well for visiting the canon beach area. They even supplied several makeup remover wipes. I was unsure about the place at first, but it turned out to be really nice and a great value. Thanks, Jessica, I think that was our housekeeper’s name.

We stayed around late December and got a very good price. The free breakfast had waffles, biscuits and gravy, and plenty more. The hotel was clean, and the staff were really friendly. It’s only a few blocks from the beach, shops, and restaurants, so we could walk everywhere.
