The Tides by the Sea

The rooms were very clean and cozy, with cute decorations. The beach is only a short walk away, and we could see the ocean from our kitchen window. We'd stay again!

I'd strongly recommend staying somewhere else. The unit was clean, at least, but the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The outlets and lights didn't work, and it was freezing inside. It took hours to get comfortable enough that we could stop wearing jackets indoors.

Being right beside the beach was great, and the pool was a nice extra. Towels were provided poolside. The pool wasn't very warm or large, but it was still a plus. The location on the outskirts of seaside worked well for us, and it's a good base for visiting Cannon Beach and Astoria. Even so, I wouldn't stay again. We were very disappointed by the cleanliness. My daughter's bed in the living room hadn't been made up, and there were no sheets or pillows. When we opened the sofa bed, it was full of sticky crumbs. The place didn't smell clean, there were crumbs and fluff on the carpet, and the top sheet felt sandy. The living room blind was the wrong size and wouldn't close all the way, so light streamed in and made it hard for my daughter to sleep. After I pointed out the dirt, staff came to hoover and made up the bed.

Nothing could beat the view from Unit 150. We stayed two nights and loved the charming, clean, comfortable place. The host had lots of helpful extras, including a well-stocked kitchen and a DVD library. Check-in and check-out were seamless, and we had no problems. We didn't use the pool, but it looked lovely. The front office also had games and grills available to borrow.
