The rest of the hotel was nice, and the staff were courteous. Our room was decently clean, though there were muffin wrappers left in the drawers when we arrived, so the cleaning could've been more thorough. The pool is open around the clock, but it wasn't much to talk about. Cleaning supplies were still left out where people could trip over them, and tiles were coming off the walls and ceiling.

BUGS! We got there on Saturday and were happy to be allowed to check in at 2. The room was so dirty that the fact the jetted tub wasn't big enough for two, despite what we'd been told when booking, quickly stopped mattering. The counters and door were sticky, the windowsill was covered in gunk, and even the lampshades were filthy. My friend pointed out the view, which was of an unkempt swamp. The pool was gnarly, but my friend is allergic to chlorine, and we'd booked the room with the jetted tub, so I wasn't too worried about that. When I went to shower, I found mold all over the shower curtain. The floor was wet and didn't dry, even though I'd figured maybe it had just been cleaned. After a reluctant shower, I went to lie on the bed and noticed fleas and other bugs. We took pictures and told the woman at the front desk. She offered another room or a refund. When we offered to show her the photos, she said, "Oh no, no, that's okay." That made me wonder if we weren't the first to find bugs. She insisted they were "probably not bedbugs," despite not wanting to look at the pictures. We didn't want to stay, so we left, but I still haven't seen the refund. When we got home, we washed our clothes and still picked off some fleas. I'm also worried about the other bugs. Other reviews mention roaches, so this place seems like a triple threat.

The river view was the best part, and the two people I spoke with were very polite and tried to help with the linens. When we checked out, the man refunded the fourth night for free, since circumstances had made us stay one extra night. He also suggested contacting corporate with any other issues. We booked three nights and four days for a wedding. The first night was fine, but after we sent our sheets and blankets to the laundry the next morning, we never got the right size back. After four sets, we still only had queen sheets for our king bed. We used the top sheets, but never got a blanket. On the third day, someone told me in the morning that everything would be taken care of. When we returned around 5 pm, there was still no bedding. No one was in the office, so I went into the open laundry room and called out. It was a mess, and nobody was around. I ran into the front desk girl who had sent up the four sets of sheets. She went to look in the laundry room, and then a man from the front desk came in. He found one king fitted sheet in the dryer and handed it to me. He said the housekeepers didn't speak English and didn't do their jobs very well, then sent me on my way. We still had no blanket. There was also no smoke detector in the room, just wires hanging from the ceiling, plus a dirty sock under the end of the bed and an old French fry behind the nightstand.

We were grateful when the front desk clerk printed custom coloring pages to keep our child busy. Everything in the city is close, yet our room was quiet even though the hotel sits right in the heart of town. The beds and couch were comfortable, and we slept well. The rooms are spacious, though the property itself is older. We skipped the heated pool because it didn't look inviting. One small gripe: the microwave was old and so tiny that we couldn't heat our toddler's milk bottle in it.
