Hampton Inn & Suites Seattle-Airport/28th Ave

The late checkout at 12 gave us time to sleep and recover, which we really needed. After a couple of rough travel days, arriving here turned the whole trip around. The staff treated us so well, and they even text you to check if you need anything. My husband and I couldn’t ask for more, and the location was great.

The big reason my boyfriend booked this hotel was the website’s promise of a pool and hot tub. There isn’t a pool, and we weren’t told online that it had been removed a year ago. We would have chosen another place with a pool, and instead spent money to stay somewhere that still advertises one. I hope the owners know that my 7-year-old son cried because all he wanted was to swim after we visited my mom in the hospital, where she had almost died. We came all the way from Arizona, and this was a horrible letdown. The site needs to be changed. It feels like false advertising, and I’m pretty sure there are laws against that. This was my first stay at a Hampton hotel, and after this I’ll skip the brand if they’re willing to advertise something unavailable to get people to book. On top of that, we’re going to be woken up over the next two days by fire alarms during an inspection. This was a very bad first impression of the chain. Shame on you, Hampton by Hilton. You’re still advertising a pool you don’t have.

There’s coffee in the lobby, with about four or five kinds, plus lots of clean, comfortable seating. It’s a lobby where you’d actually want to spend time. I heard the breakfast was good, but didn’t get to try it. Parking was easy, as was getting an Uber or Lyft from the front. The photo I took is of the inner courtyard, which has plenty of parking and a handy little solo spot I used. The location was fine, with easy freeway access, and the area felt safe and relaxed. The room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was spotless. The bed was very comfortable, and there wasn’t much hallway noise at night. You can hear planes, so bring earplugs if that concerns you, though it wasn’t bad without them. The staff were incredibly friendly. When I complimented how clean the place was, they gave the credit to their “amazing housekeeping staff.” I thought that was kind of them. Good teams speak well of each other. Thanks for hosting us!

The morning breakfast was my favorite part. There were lots of tasty choices, and they kept replenishing everything even with so many people. The shuttle back to the airport runs every 30 minutes. I checked in after a late flight into Seattle. They picked me up despite the odd arrival time, and the driver was really nice. Check-in was easy and friendly, and the room was very clean and smelled fresh. I got some good rest after traveling.
