Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle by IHG

From the hotel, Pike Place Market is about a 10-minute walk, and the spot on 4th Street makes it easy to get around. Our room was roomy, and we managed to get upgraded to a suite. The decor mixes a modern look with classic touches and feels elegant. Amenities are pretty minimal, though the robe was comfortable and the temperature was easy to adjust. We had drinks at Marin restaurant, where Maddie made some really good ones.

The little anniversary touches made the stay feel special. Cassandra and Sam had a spacious, beautifully decorated suite ready for us on the 10th floor, with a handwritten card, champagne, and local chocolates and snacks. Their care felt sincere. We picked the Kimpton Monaco for a ski trip and sightseeing, partly because of its location and our past good experiences with Kimpton. The daily complimentary 5pm wine tasting, enjoyable breakfasts and brunches, and well-equipped gym were all nice additions. This was one of our best stays at Kimpton, or at any five-star hotel. Thanks, Sam and Cassandra, for making our anniversary memorable.

Getting around was easy, with the train just around the corner, bus stops a block away, and plenty of places within walking distance. The location worked perfectly for downtown, the waterfront, and getting out of the city center. The staff were attentive and accommodating, and it felt like they cared about guests. The lobby-level restaurant adds a nice touch: drinks are complimentary during the evening social hour, and Stefan (manager/director of rooms) brought out delicious hors d'oeuvres. Our room was comfortable and well-appointed, and the clean, well-maintained fitness center had plenty of equipment. The service and location made the price worthwhile. I'd stay again.

The rooms are roomy, with parquet floors and no rugs, which I liked. The hotel was clean, in a great location, and felt very safe. You can walk to everything nearby, and they have a free wine tasting during happy hour.
