M Street By Aboda

The apartment is spacious and lovely, with huge windows looking out at the gorgeous cathedral next door. My one real complaint is the gym: it’s tiny and limited to a cable machine and some cardio equipment. I’d love to see free weights added someday. I’ve been at M Street for about two months and it’s been a great experience so far. Alyx made the rushed move-in feel comfortable, answered all my questions about the apartment, and gave us unbiased thoughts on the building and neighborhood. She’s continued to help whenever we’ve had questions. Management has been good, maintenance requests have been handled almost immediately, and they put on cute resident events, including a pet adoption and a cupcake party.

It has been seven months and my deposit still hasn't been returned. They told me more than once that the check had been returned, despite my giving them the correct mailing address. I followed up again about a month ago and got no response. This delay is unacceptable, since a deposit shouldn't take this long to come back. I've filed a complaint with SDCI Tenant Protection and will take it to small claims court if they don't resolve it. Future renters should know about this.

Since Rochelle came on board, M Street has become a much better place to live. She finally dealt with the ongoing problems with the elevators, garage, and security. It's a relief to have someone who's quick to respond and clearly cares about helping residents. She's a rockstar. Five stars!

The building feels more like a community thanks to the celebration events, which have made it easier to meet neighbors. Rochelle has been one of the best managers I've met. Since she took over, elevator interruptions have dropped considerably, and when one does happen, it's fixed the same day. The rooftop and hallways look noticeably better, too. Jonathan, Jakob, and the rest of the maintenance team have done an excellent job keeping the place in great shape.
