The part I didn’t like was the area, which felt a bit shady, and gaps under the door let cigarette and weed smoke in. I really hate the smell of weed. Still, I was pleasantly surprised after worrying about the location. I’d booked a queen bed and fridge through the app, and they seemed to give me an upgraded room with those things at no extra charge. The man at the desk was really friendly and helpful. I asked for a ground-floor room because my disability makes carrying luggage upstairs hard. They didn’t have one, but he rearranged things so I was near the stairs and found someone to bring up my two bags. The rooms were clean, and other guests were fairly quiet and friendly. One stopped me on the stairs to chat and tell a joke. On my second day, a man I think was with housekeeping went door to door checking that guests were okay.

I found bed bugs in our Motel 6 room, including one right on the pillow. It’s awful to realize you’ve been sleeping in a bed crawling with bugs. When we told the front desk, the staff were dismissive and didn’t seem to care. There was no urgency, apology or real fix, just a shrug and the feeling we were out of luck. Bed bugs are a health and sanitation problem, and their lack of professionalism and empathy made an already stressful situation worse. It left me feeling that guest safety and cleanliness aren’t a priority. Think twice before staying here. Nobody should have to find bed bugs and then be treated like a nuisance for reporting them. Never again.

My room was clean and warm when I arrived, and the staff were attentive and very kind. It was a standard Motel 6 room, though. At 2am, my neighbor got into a domestic fight and pounded on the wall beside my bed so hard that I could feel it move. I felt unsafe and had to call security. The people involved were asked to leave. This is the only motel for miles that doesn’t charge a security deposit, though it may just have been a bad night when I stayed.

The room looked straight out of the 80s. I paid for a queen but got a full bed, the stovetop didn’t work, and there was no cookware or anything to wash dishes with unless you went and got it, like I did. The blankets had cigarette burns and the sheets were stained. The location right off the freeway is great, but the people walking around, who may have been other guests, reminded me of the Jungle in Olympia. At first, staff made me feel like a bother and seemed too busy on their computer or phone to help me check in, though some were nicer later. I was also shocked by a required $100 cash deposit that they kept in little envelopes labeled with names and room numbers right below check-in. It looked like a robbery waiting to happen. I’ll never stay here again and don’t recommend it.

The staff were friendly, the room was clean, and I liked that they didn’t require a deposit. This is one of the few motels nearby with smoking rooms. The chicken place just around the corner, peruvian, was tasty too. But the paint and finish on the maintenance work in the room were really sloppy. I only gave it two stars instead of four because they charge extra for parking. I’ve never seen that at a Motel 6, and it wasn’t mentioned when I booked online. For a roadside motel, it feels like a hidden fee that pushes the room cost above other Motel 6 locations in the area. Without that petty charge, I’d have rated it four stars.
