MOXY Seattle Downtown

I came to Seattle for two weeks of fun and tried several properties, but canceled my other hotel reservations so I could return to Moxy. The front desk hospitality was the main reason. Lani made the stay so good, she was friendly, funny and professional, and I felt at home. The rooms are a bit small, but clean and neat, and they serve their purpose. I always slept well because the beds are comfortable.

The rooms are small and short on amenities, but the welcoming staff were happy to bring what I needed when I asked. The lobby is a great place to hang out, the gym has everything you need, and the whole place is clean, modern and well kept. I had an amazing stay for Valentine’s weekend and will definitely return.

My first time at a Moxy was a good one, probably around 4.5 out of 5 for me. The lobby has a nice vibe, with people relaxing, working, playing games or sitting at the bar. There are lots of restaurants within a short walk, including Indian, Mexican, American, seafood and Vietnamese. I was there for business, though, and the room had no desk, which made working difficult. I can’t work in a noisy lobby and often need quiet for Zoom calls. The website did suggest the rooms would be small and the lobby would be the hub. The staff I met were all kind and welcoming. I enjoyed the overall feel and would come back.

The key issue was the worst part. My partner and I booked two nights, January 1-3, 2026, for a New Year staycation with friends. On January 2 I got back before my partner, who was running errands, and my key fob had stopped working. The front desk said they couldn't reactivate it because the reservation wasn't in my name. I put my partner on the phone, but staff still said they had to call the reservation hotline. The calls wouldn't go through, and the staff member had seen me the night before. The curly-haired supervisor told me protocol meant my partner had to come to the desk to let me in. I was left locked out for no valid reason. Service felt unfriendly throughout. At 9:25 AM I asked the bar for a breakfast menu. The employee seemed annoyed, pointed out breakfast ended at 10, checked the time, handed me the menu without speaking, then turned to someone else. The bar's hours are odd too, 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with no cocktails or draft drinks outside that window. Most employees seemed unhappy and uninterested in helping. Poor service and unreasonable policies made the stay miserable. I wouldn't recommend it.
