Residence Inn Seattle University District

We flew in from the East Coast for a family emergency with no time to plan. Around 4 a.m., Daniel got us into a room so we could sleep and figure out what to do next. His kindness and understanding made us choose to stay here for the rest of our time in town. Later, Brandol helped arrange things so we wouldn’t need to switch rooms, and we’re very grateful to him too. Everyone else we dealt with was polite and more helpful than you’d usually expect these days. The whole team deserves credit for showing care through what they did. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

I was uneasy about walking to a nearby restaurant after dark because the neighborhood seemed to change a few streets over. That’s not the hotel’s fault, and ordering through a delivery app worked out fine. The lobby desk gladly accepted the food and called my room when it arrived. The rooms are spacious, the staff are friendly, and breakfast is great, with hot food, cereals, bread, yogurt, coffee, and juice. I’d definitely stay again because it’s close to the medical center and university.

Breakfast was especially good, and the beds and pillows were comfortable, including the sofa bed. The bathroom worked well, with strong water pressure, hot water, soap, conditioner, and towels. The HVAC was quiet, but we couldn’t get the temperature comfortable. It seemed either hot or cold. The kitchen was large and well stocked: fridge and freezer, dishwasher, sink, microwave, cooktop, cabinets, dishes, utensils, pots and pans, knives, cutting board, and more. There was a Keurig, plus dish soap, a scrub pad, towel and cloth, dishwasher detergent, salt and pepper, and paper towels. Extra blankets were available on request. We were on the second floor. To reach the lobby by stairs, we had to go outside and cross the parking garage driveway. The other stairwell door to the first floor was locked, and the elevator was a little slow. The garage was awkward with a large car, and the spaces were narrow. Still, the place was clean, comfortable, convenient, and quiet. I recommend it.

I spent over eight years working for Marriott, so it takes a lot to impress me. But walking into the Residence Inn-University District had me blown away right away. Brandon at the front desk gave five-star service, and the rooms were pristine, with a great layout. I love this place. It’s my new favorite staycation spot.
