The beds were very, very comfortable, the staff were polite, and the location worked perfectly for my weekend conference at UW. The hotel is under a 10-minute walk from campus and the University Ave shops and restaurants, with a medical center just across the street. As a woman walking alone at night, I felt very safe. Insomnia Cookies, with vegan and regular options, is about an eight-minute walk away and stays open until 1 a.m. They also provide filtered water and reusable bottles. I wasn’t sure the room experience was worth $120 a night. It’s a basic, dated hotel, and you get what you pay for. I’m a light sleeper, and weekend nights were rough. A group of about four teenagers in the next room were talking loudly and screaming in their room and the hallway, going in and out and slamming the door. The walls are thin enough that it all sounded like it was in my room. People in the hallway seemed to slam their doors too, and I woke up repeatedly despite earplugs and a pillow over my head. Around 11 p.m. I asked the teenagers to quiet down. I guess I should’ve expected noise, booking in a university neighborhood on a weekend. There was also a glaring neon bathroom light shining toward the bed. I moved the desk chair into the bathroom and propped a pillow on it to block the light. The door isn’t sealed, so hallway light came through at night too; I hung one of the European-style comforters over the lock arm to cover half of the gap. In room 304, a pipe or drainage pipes made a sound like a water fountain that came and went. I couldn’t tell if it was connected to the rain outside or appliances draining water continuously for hours. If you’re not a sensitive sleeper, you’ll probably be fine.

Our room was clean and spacious, with a mini fridge and microwave that helped us manage food. My family took turns staying here while my mom was having open heart surgery at UW. We didn’t know how long we’d need to be there, and the staff were flexible about letting us book a few days at a time. We were mostly there to sleep and shower, so I can’t say much about the rest of the experience.

Harper at the front desk made my daughters feel welcome and excited about staying, and parking was easy. It’s a couple of blocks from the light rail and the best street for shopping and eating in the university district. Great value, highly recommend.

I was unsure about the area at first, but it turned out to be perfect. I’m in my second full week here for work training at UW, which is within walking distance, and the staff have been friendly and very helpful. Campus, shops, coffee places, and even Trader Joe’s are only minutes away on foot, if you know, you know. There are two downsides: no rooms have a microwave, and you have to ask for paid parking, which gets added to your bill at checkout. There is one shared microwave in the large lobby. Even so, I’d highly recommend staying here.

I came all the way from Neah Bay, WA to support my mom during heart surgery, and it was a long drive into Seattle. From the moment I arrived, the staff made things easier. Team Pineapple welcomed me with real kindness, and the thoughtful, supportive card they gave me meant a lot during such a stressful time. This place felt like home, with staff who truly care. You don’t find that kind of attention at most hotels. I highly recommend it, five stars all day. I’ll always book here when I’m in Seattle.
