Arroyo Pinion Hotel, an Ascend Collection Hotel

The room was quiet, clean, and had plenty of towels. We slept okay, thanks to one decent bed and nice pillows, though the other bed was uncomfortable. The pool was really nice and heated, and I loved the fire pit and seating. There's also a nice sauna and what looks like an ice bath. Breakfast is available, and it looked good, but we didn't try it because we had other plans. The room had a nice shower, but no soaking tub like the pictures led me to expect, and there isn't a hot tub on the property. You can't beat the location. We could walk to lots of restaurants, including our favorite pizza place, famous pizza. Service was accommodating, especially since we arrived pretty late. The place is small and hard to spot at night; we missed the tiny lobby sign on the first try. Some things in the room were frustrating. The shower and toilet area had no sink or mirror, and it was right by the door, so people coming in or out while we were getting ready or washing up was awkward. One bed was uncomfortable, though the other was decent. I'd possibly return if we got a better room.

I got the date wrong when I booked, and by the time we arrived the reservation had long passed. The employee was courteous and understanding, and still found a way to accommodate us that day. The room had recently been remodeled and was fantastic, clean, and quiet. All the staff were friendly. General manage Vishal was personable and even offered to refund the charge for the wrong date, although the booking mistake was mine. I highly recommend the place and plan to stay here on every Sedona visit.

The outside pool and fire pit were just right for warm days and cool Sedona nights, and the rooms were great. From check-in through checkout, Vishal, the GM, and every staff member I met were courteous and accommodating. I've traveled for most of my career, and this was a top-notch experience at the Arroyo Pinion Hotel. I highly recommend it.

The hotel sits on the edge of town and was very quiet at night, which I liked. Still, it was only an okay stay, and I was disappointed that it lacked the things I wanted: a Jacuzzi, intuitive HVAC, and a usable spot for my laptop. I chose and upgraded to this hotel because it advertised a Jacuzzi tub when I booked 2-3 weeks ahead. I even called the reservation number to check which rooms had one. At check-in I found out they no longer had Jacuzzi tubs and had replaced them with single-person soaking tubs. The new tubs have no hooks or nearby table for towels, and the water pipes beside them wobble. Water splashes onto a wall that I assumed used to be tiled when the jacuzzis were there. I worry that the sheet rock will have problems down the road. The HVAC needs an instruction sheet. It has buttons such as "I feel." My room was freezing with it 40 degrees outside, and I couldn't work out how to get the heat on. I tried sunshine mode, which I assumed meant heat, and set it to 88 degrees, but it kept blowing cold air. Its display lit up the whole room at night, so I shut it off and used the fireplace instead. The bathroom paint looked unfinished, with drips on the door, and it seemed like they hadn't fixed wall or corner blemishes before painting. There weren't any flat surfaces or a desk for a laptop. A wooden tray by the loveseat was too narrow for mine, which made working harder.
