We had a standard room with a small kitchenette and all the necessities, and it suited us fine. I booked with points and honestly didn't think there was another choice in the area. Our return was an accident, but we'll plan the next one. We enjoyed the stay from beginning to end, and even once we were home the service kept going: I left my phone behind, and Emily was wonderful about getting it back to me. I'd recommend staying here.

The pool itself was nice, but the shelves for towels were all empty. Across the property, places you'd expect staff to be around, including the desks and hallways, felt deserted. A printed card even asked guests to strip the beds and take off duvet covers, which made the place seem badly understaffed. When we needed help, the front desk chatbot was no use. At 2 a.m. our fire alarm started chirping. After a lot of reading that led us to the chatbot or 911, we found a security number. A very nice man came, asked whether we had a ladder (we didn't), then stood on the least wobbly chair he could find, removed the alarm, and took it away. We were just hoping to get back to sleep and thankfully didn't have a real fire, but soon the alarm in the next room started chirping too. The next morning we asked for a late checkout and got a curt “Checkout is at 10.” When we explained we'd been moving slowly after the alarm, the only offer was a huffy “Best I can do is 11.” The photos show traditional buildings fitting into the rocky cliffs, a pool, fire pits, and sweeping views. They don't show how rough the details and service are for a hotel under the Hyatt name. Our carpet was dingy, the lights buzzed and were awkwardly placed, the patio chairs were shaky, and getting to them meant wrestling with heavy blinds. The shower had rust and moldy spots. It was far below my other Hyatt stays. If you like camping and midnight adventures, maybe you'll be okay here, but don't expect the usual from a Hyatt.

The place itself is decent, though I'm generally not a fan of timeshares. We liked staying in the heart of Sedona, and the accommodations were fine. The rooms are nice overall, with good views depending on which one you get. Some parts feel dated, and the shower valve was touchy, along with a few other minor issues.

The red rock views are stunning, and the rooms are comfortable and spacious, with a cozy home-away-from-home feel. Hyatt Vacation Club at Piñon Pointe captures Sedona's charm nicely. Just be aware that Globalist members don't get complimentary breakfast here, since it’s a Vacation Club property.

We only stayed one night, which was my one mistake. The villa, pool, and hot tub were beautiful and felt so romantic, all surrounded by Sedona's magnificent red rocks. The resort was even lovelier in person than the website photos, which almost never happens. Our needs were all taken care of, and I can't say enough about how exquisite the stay was. I highly recommend it and would absolutely come back.
