Colonial Inn Seekonk

We were friendly, quiet, and respectful throughout our stay, but my wife came back from the front desk in tears after being humiliated over claims we believe were false. The desk staff also told us to leave the room and wait outside in the cold with our daughter, even though our ride would arrive just 15 minutes after checkout. After we'd stayed more than a week, a staff member approached us and told us to leave. She said she'd been “homeless” too and assumed our child had a disability, which she doesn't. Housekeeping was rude as well. We were accused of leaving a disaster, with food on the floor and walls. That's exaggerated. Sure, after a week with a toddler there were probably crumbs, and my daughter had left a couple of food stains on the bed, but we cleaned up after ourselves for the most part. Housekeeping seemed more focused on replacing towels and making swans from towels and toilet paper. Taking over two hours to clean one small room, however messy, would be a reason to lose your job. We're disgusted by how we were treated. Don't worry, Colonial, we won't return. You can keep your clientele of teenagers getting drunk, smashing walls, and vomiting in the parking lot, lol.

I've stayed here five times and will be back. It's a nice place for just under $100 with taxes. The bedsheets and bed seem clean, the bathroom is always clean, and they wipe down the surfaces. The floors, though, seem never to get mopped, and my feet end up dirty. Front desk staff can be a little passive aggressive, but are usually professional. Some workers are loud at times, yet they're very real and friendly. They seem to smoke outside near the smoking rooms, so I don't get why reviews complain about it. I leave the Do Not Disturb sign up, and they still hang a bag of fresh towels, soap, and toilet paper on the knob. The fridge, microwave, heat, and AC all worked well. Give them a try if you're in the area.

The room was perfectly fine, nothing special. I left a suit behind, my mistake, and asked the hotel to send it back. They said I needed to arrange something with UPS, which made sense. But the UPS Store was only four minutes away according to Google Maps, and the hotel wouldn't take the suit there, even though it would have taken eight minutes out of their busy day in Seekonk. The UPS Store sent one of its counter workers to pick it up, not a driver, and I had the suit the next day. Next time I need a room in Seekonk, I'll stay at the UPS Store.

The room was just right when I walked in, and the place was quiet. The bed was firm and comfortable, and the shower worked well with plenty of hot water. It was an affordable stay in exactly the location I needed.
