I feel like I got robbed 😔. I booked online that morning while staying at another hotel, choosing this motel because it was cheap, close to my work, and within my budget. I can’t afford extra expenses I don’t need. But at check-in, the desk showed a deposit of $50 for smoking rooms or $100 for non-smoking. I didn’t have enough for either. The room itself was about $62 or $63. This place doesn’t deserve a damn rating.

The room itself was somewhat comfortable, with a clean-looking bed, working AC and TV, and good hot water. Room 27 had a strange smell, though at least it wasn’t cigarette or marijuana smoke. The shower curtain was dirty and the water pressure was low. Outside, the property needs a lot of work, and some units seem to be full-time homes for families with children. The owner and family live on site in an apartment above several motel rooms. They were friendly, but the family didn’t seem to consider the guests downstairs. The owner’s teenage kids banged and slammed things late at night, and loud TV and conversations carried through the thin walls. I complained, and it got quieter for about 30 minutes. There were also sketchy people around the property, presumably full-time residents.

Room #10 was in rough shape. There were carpet stains, dirt on the window sills and elsewhere, and the windows were coming loose as the wood around them rotted. The mini fridge had mold, the A/C didn’t work, and the heat was set to 75°. The bathroom door wouldn’t shut and latch, and the shower curtain fell as soon as I walked in. The beds weren’t comfortable, and the TV was awkwardly placed in the corner beside the bed. People wandered around outside at night, and at 6am a couple were fighting out there. They must live here. The whole place felt shady and needs updating and better maintenance. We won’t stay again when we come up for another event at the local race track. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

The rest of the trip went fine after they fixed a toilet that flooded through no fault of ours. The bed also broke while we were just getting on and off it.
