Days Inn by Wyndham Aiken - Interstate Hwy 20

The microwave was rusted with metal exposed, and I wouldn’t use the washcloths because they looked dirty. The toilet didn’t work, and there was an old sign about it, but they wouldn’t use the money guests pay to fix it. I also asked for a smoke detector to be installed. They acknowledged the request, but never brought one to the room. There are two time-stamped instances showing they knew it was missing. The place felt unsafe and unhealthy. I can’t understand reviews calling it clean, and the photos made me wonder if they were taken when it first opened, maybe in the early 2000s. The towels looked just as old. I wouldn’t use those cloths at all.

The receptionist was friendly, and the area seemed safe, with welcoming people around. It’s an older hotel, but it’s been updated and was clean. Waffle House is an easy walk away. I stayed overnight because of car trouble and would come back.

The owners seemed invested in giving guests a good stay, and the staff were professional and friendly. It’s close to I-20 and nearby venues, with good lighting and a safe feel.

I visit family nearby once a year and stayed at the motel next door before. That one wasn’t any better, so I’ll look for somewhere else next time. This motel is conveniently located near I-20, but it’s worn out and badly needs an upgrade. The price didn’t match the condition, though I can see how it might work for migrant workers.
