The Aztec Motel & Creative Space

Caitlin checked us in and was very helpful with restaurant suggestions, including pet friendly options. Sebastian, the owner, gave us a warm welcome and looked after us throughout our 2-night stay. He even put traffic cones around the spot where we parked the rig we were hauling. The whole property was clean and tidy, and the amenities felt thoughtfully chosen. Have a look in the check in office store when you get a chance. The Aztec feels comfortable and safe, and we'll be back. Great job, Sebastian!

We were driving to California and needed somewhere to stay after the first motel had a huge no pets sign, and the next one was full despite its vacancy sign. Someone suggested The Aztec. I was a little unsure when we pulled up because it's a small hotel, but Sebastian was very friendly at check-in. The motel welcomes pets without an extra charge. The lobby has a 70's vibe, while the rooms are brand new. Sebastian and his wife refurbished the place a few years ago, and everything is new. The bed was comfortable, and as someone who's 6 foot 1, I loved having a showerhead above my head and a hot shower. The little gift shop opens by 7 am and has some great things. We bought several unique gifts for friends, and we'll definitely return.

We felt connected to this small, charming town thanks to all the information about Seligman, its history, and its shops. A lovely surprise was the Creative Space, a shared area with a kitchenette, games, books, tables, a piano, and great Spotify playlists. The room was spacious and clean, and finding USB and USB-C ports was a small touch that made a big difference for foreign travelers. Breakfast was great, and the gift shop had quality local products at good prices. The Aztec made for a fantastic Route 66 stay with a creative, original twist.

The Creative Space made a great place for our family to gather. It has chairs, a kitchen, and a big dining table in front of a TV, so we watched movies, played cards, and shared food. There’s also a cute gift shop with crafts and goods from local artisans. The Aztec is in a walkable little city, just down the street from shops and small restaurants. The building is clearly historic, but the rooms have been refreshed and are updated, clean, and comfortable while keeping that kitschy feel. Seb and Anna were so friendly and went the extra mile to make sure we had a great stay. I'd highly recommend the Aztec if you're in the area or passing through.
